Diary Of A City Girl In The Village Episode V

March 5th 8am Dear Diary, I am Finally settling in, but this morning I am feeling sore all over. I guess my body has finally recognized the change in environment. I think I might be coming down with a fever, I knew this was going to happen, you can hardly get a decent drinking water here plus the mosquitos here are really out for blood! Complaining about them to a neighbor one time, she jokingly answered and said they were welcoming  me... This is certainly not a warm welcome I thought to myself seeing that I have mosquito bite marks all over my body. Due to inadequate preparation I forget to come with a mosquito balm or net not that I am sure it would work against these mosquitoes here,  but maybe it would have been of some help, but it's certainly now among the list of what to buy when next I go to town. Where do I get drugs for this? Is the question I have been asking myself all morning, it was hard enough to locate a bank and since I have been around I haven't really

Join This Chariot (Our Mandate)

Divine mandates are always accompanied with divine grace! Read how the English Dictionary defines the word *Mandate* An official or authoritative command; an order or injunction; a commission; a judicial precept . Simply put; To Authorize! Divine mandates are divine/supreme instructions from God to an individual! What is God's mandate to every believer! Acts  26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee ; It goes on to say in verse 18; To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Somebody will say, well this was Jesus giving Paul his mandate, true but the same still goes to us! Jesus is still giving everyone this sam

8pm Ha! Can't believe the trouble I had to go through just to cook myself something to eat, setting up a place to cook wasn't easy, the house where I got an accommodation is made up of six rooms with a long hall separating them, making it three rooms on each sides with no kitchen, it was like I was back to school again, only that this time it was very different. Back then at school, the houses were pretty, more comfy and it smelled better, plus I didn't really live in one of those houses I just visited some friends there. After much debate, I finally decided to set up my kitchen just outside my door, this meant I had to keep an eye on it not because I didn't want the food getting burnt but because I don't have much trust for anyone here yet, it's better safe than sorry! Back home, though I still complained about cooking but we pretty much had it easy! Too easy! You pretty much cooked and ate, slept at the same place. Life in the city is a distinct contrast

March 4th 2016 Dear diary, this is my second day here now and so far, it's been crazy! Came back late yesterday as I feared, turns out the bank was way off this Village! I was able to get some stuffs, even though they were not really up to my taste, I guess I will make do with what I have! I finally put a call through to my family, I called Lekan first, I could barely hear him, but he sounded angry, something about why I didn't tell him about my trip, I guess he called home and they told him about it... Awww, whatever! Mom was happy to finally hear from me, she kept asking "omo mi (my child) are you alright, are you safe, what are you eating, how are you coping?. ..  So many questions, I could barely say anything, when she finally gave me a chance to speak, I just told her I was ok, that she shouldn't worry about me. I guess Dad is still pissed at me, cos he wouldn't talk to me, mom said not to worry about him that he will eventually come around, so I have de

Diary Of A City Girl In The Village. Episode II

I woke up today 8am . I almost forgot to write on you today, this whole diary thing is new to me, I only decided on keeping one few weeks ago and from where I stand right now, I think it was a pretty wise decision. I mean, here I am on a strange land with no friends or family "yet", with none to talk to, you are all I have got! Talking about friends and family, I wonder what must be going through the heads of my so called perfect friends, traitors! I know for sure, mom and dad would be worried sick, I haven't tried calling them, moreover the cell reception here is just terrible, I wonder if this place is even in the map of this country! Leaving home for this quest was not easy, mom pleaded with me "Temi, be reasonable, dad just kept shouting "this is total madness" . He just kept asking why his only daughter, with a degree on international relations, a good one at that will suddenly want to go and spend a month vacation on some remote village and not

Escaping The Trick Of Complacency!

For every leader and want to be leaders, this is important! I am sure you must have head of the word "complacency" if you haven't, here is what it means; Complacency; A feeling of contented self-satisfaction, especially when unaware of upcoming trouble!   Many leaders full into this trap, I have, maybe you are right now, whatever the case, it's a place no leader should feel comfortable in for too long! Most times many tend to forget that success is part time, that is why you'll see effective leaders setting up another goal upon the achievement of one set before. You don't want to be complacent! It tricks you to a state of assumption, making you feel there is really nothing left to achieve now but some how along the line that feeling of underachievement always comes along which usually ends many up in regrets.
